Some graphics feel as if they have already lived another life. Faded fruit crates, paper labels, market stalls and boxes stacked for a journey somewhere warmer. The Lupita Naranjas Heavy Sweater takes that visual memory and turns it into a colourful heavyweight piece built for now.

Lupita looks like a forgotten citrus label, but there is no lost orange empire to uncover here. The name, the grower-style signature and the whole identity are deliberate design fiction. What is real is the graphic tradition behind it: bold produce labels made to be noticed before anyone had heard the phrase brand strategy.

FRUIT LABELS WITH A SECOND LIFE

Spanish citrus exporters used colourful paper labels to identify their fruit and make crates recognisable in busy markets. Names, illustrations and bright printing gave everyday produce its own visual personality. “Naranjas Selectas” belongs naturally to that language, and the Lupita artwork borrows its confidence without pretending to be an original historical label.

MEET LUPITA

Lupita and Raimundo Puente are fictional names created for this design. Together they give the graphic the slightly mysterious feel of something found in an old market archive. A circular orange sits at the centre, surrounded by leaves and strong navy lettering. Familiar enough to feel remembered, invented enough to belong completely to this sweater.

CITRUS IN FULL COLOUR

The palette does most of the talking. Deep navy, vivid orange, green leaves and clean white details give the graphic the punch of traditional commercial print without adding artificial ageing. On White it feels crisp and poster-like. Athletic Heather softens the background and pushes the whole thing closer to an old sportswear find.

HEAVYWEIGHT FOR COOLER DAYS

The sunshine stays in the graphic. The rest is built for colder weather. At 350 g/m², the Heavy Sweater has a substantial feel with an oversized unisex fit, dropped shoulders and a soft brushed interior. Relaxed enough for everyday wear, with enough weight to earn the word heavy.

STYLING ADVICE
